Today it is spoken by more than 140 million people on earth, and for 125 million of themit is a native language.The true origin of the Japanese language is still one of the biggest mysteries in history. Scientists stillcan not come to the only true conclusion about when exactly it appeared and what languages influenced itsdevelopment. It is caused by the fact that in this language two lexical layers are distinguished, which correspond with Altaic and Austronesian languages. However, the majority of historians still come to the conclusion that, most likely, the Japanese language originated on the basis of Altaic languages, which influenced its development to a greater extent.
